JD Group

The JD Group is strategically positioned in South and southern Africa as a leading diversified mass consumer financier and a differentiated furniture, appliance, electronic goods, home entertainment and office automation retailer.
APT was initially implemented in 50 of the JDG branches as a proof of concept in 2004 and quickly proved itself. APT was then rolled out the remaining 1100 branches. This included the integration of APT with 4 source systems.
The entire JDG portfolio (including its joint venture products) are stored in one single APT database which means that APT was the only product in the group that had a holistic view of all the customers in the group. JDG are therefore able to consolidate the accounts and profile an entire customer across all brands as well as reporting at a group level.
Due to the number of users and volume of data, IS created a separate ODS (operational data store) database on which to run the reports. This means that near-real-time reports can be drawn without affecting the end-users. A selection of reports has also been automated to be e-mailed according to the requirements.
APT profiling and queuing of accounts has been enhanced to host the Triad system within APT (implementation took 6 months – the fastest Triad implementation to date).
All the business processes have been automated and are managed by exception. This includes the importing and exporting of data and running of all business processes.

- Art of Service
- Debt Review
- Personal Calls
- Prospecting and marketing
